The agreement was signed by Peter Baumgartner, Executive Director of Etihad Airways, and Ramesh Jagannathan, Executive Director of startAD and Vice Provost for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at NYU Abu Dhabi, at a ceremony held at Etihad Headquarters.
Through Venture Launchpad, startAD will provide early access to Etihad Airways to high-caliber startups in key areas of focus of the airline. The STARTAD Venture Launchpad program is able to identify early-stage technology startups and help them develop a scalable, repeatable and capital-efficient business model that culminates in a day of investors where finalists prepare their projects for investors. Startups can apply to the program by visiting vl.startad.ae.
As a result of this partnership, Etihad Airways will offer knowledge and experience in aviation, big data, logistics and cargo transportation to new companies registered with startAD, which will affect the inherited approach in aviation and related domains. Etihad experts will guide the startup teams in the Venture Launchpad program, the Beyond the Pitch program and will begin ADvance.
